In cooperation with Z_punkt, facts and fiction takes the lead and develops an exhibition concept oriented towards the megatrends of the future - shown in the everyday life of the "Family 2030".

MS Wissenschaft (MV Science) is a floating science center that visits around 30 cities along Germany's waterways every year. There is an annually changing exhibition on board which invites visitors to try out, participate and research. It is intended to encourage young people in particular to take an interest in and enjoy scientific topics and to present the latest projects of German research institutes. 

For facts and fiction, as a Rhine inhabitants, it is of course an attractive task to design the entire exhibition – integrating the experiments provided by science organizations in terms of architecture and content – and also to develop their hands-on experiments. The cargo hold of the freighter has approx. 600 square metres of exhibition space available for this purpose. Z_punkt, our neighbour and one of the leading German agencies for futurology, is developing an exhibition concept according to the theme "Ideas for the Future", which is oriented towards the megatrends of the coming 15 to 20 years.

The concept focuses on a normal family of the future and its everyday life. It is called "Family 2030" and is presented in the form of an entertaining comic strip. On five exhibition islands, visitors follow their tracks - from morning breakfast to evening leisure - and encounter the effects of megatrends.

The overall impression of the exhibition is bright and friendly. The exhibition deliberately avoids superficial science fiction attributes. On the outside of the exhibition islands there are photos of the individual megatrends, while on the inside one encounters the comic family in situations appropriate to the time of day are presented. Thus the view is directed from the big whole to the microcosm of the individual level. According to the principle of "context flows around content", the megatrends are flanked by interactive visionator stations. Visitors can log in and create their own personal future profile. So, let's get rid of the lines!
